ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount (Va.) University and the men's lacrosse team are teaming up with the Mason Leach Superstar Fund to host the 2016 Mason Mile on October 22 right here on campus, an event that will be a part of MU Family Weekend.
The Mason Leach Superstar Fund was created in the memory of Mason Leach, a five-year old who didn't let cancer define him. Mason died on October 13, 2007, just a few weeks after his birthday. The goal of Mason Leach's Superstar Fund is to support existing programs at American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). In partnership with ACCO, the Mason Leach Superstar Fund helps to provide information, support, and services to children and families fighting cancer. They focus on "sweating the small stuff" that make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

Starting Monday, October 3 and for every day leading up to the event, the Marymount men's lacrosse team will be set up in the atrium of the Rose Bente Lee Center and outside the Girard Dining Hall from the times of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., holding signups for the race. The cost of registration is free to race, but donations are encouraged for either organization, Mason Leach Superstar Fund and ACCO. Your generous gift will allow them to continue to empower children with cancer and their families across the country.
