Bratke named CVC Player of the Week for first time in collegiate career

ARLINGTON, Va. – With a pair of wins against two AVCA Top-10 opponents this past week, the Continental Volleyball Conference awarded an individual on the Marymount (Va.) University men's volleyball team on his efforts, as junior setter Erich Bratke earned his first Player of the Week honor in his career. 

Bratke had quite a weekend on the court, helping the Saints to victories over No. 9 Eastern Mennonite University and No. 5 New York University. Through the two wins, he averaged 10.44 assists. 

Against the Royals, he posted a season-high 49 assists in the 3-1 victory, while adding six digs. As a team, the Saints hit .358 in the match, nearly 200-points better than opponents were hitting against EMU prior to the match. 

He followed it up with a 45-assist match in a 3-2 victory over NYU later that day, and diving out for 10 digs, as the Saints hit .273 as a team. 

Bratke and the Saints head on the road to Boston, Massachusetts for several matches this upcoming week, starting off with No. 6 Vassar College on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.
