Wiechecki Named CVC Player of the Week, Earns Sixth Career Honor

ARLINGTON, Va. - On Monday, Marymount men's volleyball senior TJ Wiechecki was named Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week for the first time this season and the sixth time in his career. He also earned the honor three times last year, one as a sophomore and once as a freshman.

In two matches last week, Wiechecki totaled 35 kills, an average of 5.00 per set, while posting a .448 hitting percentage. He also added seven digs, five service aces and two block assists. The No. 11 Saints went 2-0 with a four-set victory over No. 6 Kean and a sweep of Lancaster Bible.

Wiechecki's best match came in a four-set win over No. 6 Kean in which he had 18 kills, a .467 hitting percentage, two service aces, three digs and two block assists. He totaled 15 of his 18 kills over the third and fourth sets as the 11th-ranked Saints rallied after losing the first set.

Against the Chargers, Wiechecki totaled 17 kills, four digs and three service aces as Marymount improved to 7-0 in three-set matches this season.

Wiechecki ranks second in the CVC and ninth nationally at 3.84 kills per set. He is also third in the CVC and 12th in Division III in points per set at 4.52.

Marymount begins an eight-match road trip next Friday when it travels to No. 9 Juniata for a CVC contest beginning at 6 p.m.
