Women's soccer drops home opener to Profs

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount women's soccer team opened up its home schedule on Wednesday night, hosting Rowan University for a non-conference matchup at Long Bridge Park.

A couple of early goals by the Profs pushed the score to 3-0 by the 16th minute, eventually seeing a 4-0 lead at the half.

Through the final 45 minutes of play, the Saints locked in on defense to hold the Rowan attack from the scoreboard until the final two minutes when it tacked on the final goal to take the 5-0 decision.

Two shots were taken by MU, both in the first half, off the feet of sophomores Karen Reyes and Gretel Bonilla

Junior Sydney Sherman tended the net for the full 90 minutes, notching another 10-save contest.

The Saints will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 16, hosting Hood College for another non-conference matchup. First touch is set for 12 p.m., at Long Bridge Park.
