YORK, Pa. – After a 3-0 week on the court, the Marymount (Va.) University women's volleyball team earned an individual recognition on Monday afternoon, as sophomore Caroline Hanson was named Capital Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week.
The sophomore setter had a strong all-around performance the past week, including her third triple-double of the season against Catholic University of America on Wednesday night to rank her seventh in the country in the category. There has been just five triple-doubles in the CAC this season, three of which have been Hanson's.
Beyond her triple-double against Catholic, she posted double-doubles in the other two matches. Against Southern Virginia University, she notched 19 assists, 10 digs, five kills, two service aces, and two block assists. She followed it up on Sunday at Frostburg State University with 27 assists, 15 digs, six kills, and two blocks.
Through a three-match stretch, Hanson collected 22 kills, 74 assists, 43 digs, four service aces, and nine total blocks.
Hanson and the Saints return home for the rest of the regular season, taking on No. 14 University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, October 26. First serve is set for 7 p.m., in the Verizon Sports Arena.
