Caroline Hanson Named CAC Player of the Week For Second Time

YORK, Pa. - For the first time this season and the second in her career, Marymount women's volleyball junior Caroline Hanson was named Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Volleyball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Hanson, who also earned the conference's top weekly honor on October 23, 2016, posted four triple-doubles to lead the Saints to three wins in their first four matches of the season at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational.

Hanson, who finished last season ranked sixth in Division III with four triple-doubles, averaged 14.3 kills, 17.3 assists and 13.3 digs. She opened the season on Friday with 15 kills, 17 assists and 13 digs against Cabrini before adding 12 kills, 16 assists and 16 digs versus Benedictine.

On Saturday, Hanson totaled 12 kills, 14 assists and 12 digs against St. Catherine before totaling a career-high 18 kills to go along with 22 assists and 12 digs versus host Virginia Wesleyan.

Marymount returns to action on Friday when it travels to Boston, Massachusetts for the New England Invitational hosted by UMass Boston. The Saints face the host Beacons at 5:00 p.m., before taking on Minnesota Morris at 7:00 p.m.
