LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced its first-ever baseball weekly awards on Monday, and Marymount University junior Mike Ferrara was named the league's Player of the Week.
Ferrara helped the Saints split a season-opening doubleheader on Sunday with Widener University. He went 2-for-3 at the plate in the second game, a 2-1 win for Marymount.
He blasted his first home run of the year in that game, while finishing with two runs scored and one RBI. Ferrara had five total bases in the contest.
In the field, he had seven total chances between the games, making two put outs and five assists for a perfect fielding percentage.
The Saints will continue the start to their season on Friday, February 22, taking on Stevenson University in the first day of the Bison Baseball Classic at Gallaudet University; the first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
