WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Marymount University baseball team finished off the Bison Baseball Classic on Sunday at Gallaudet University, dropping a 16-6 nine-inning game to Washington (Md.) College.
Sophomore Ryan Bergenhagen got the nod on mound for the Saints, tossing a strong first two innings with five strikeouts. However, the Shoremen found home plate six times in the third inning to take a lead that wouldn't falter the rest of the way.
The bottom of the fifth saw Marymount bring around its first round, with senior Luke Tyree launching his first home run of the season over the right-field fence to score him and fellow senior Conner Hall.
The Saints will look to rebound on Wednesday, February 27, back at Nationals Youth Academy, as they host Hampden-Syndey College for a single nine-inning game set to start at 1 p.m.
