Baseball Falls In Final Day of Bison Classic

Baseball Falls In Final Day of Bison Classic

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Marymount University baseball team finished off the Bison Baseball Classic on Sunday at Gallaudet University, dropping a 16-6 nine-inning game to Washington (Md.) College.

Sophomore Ryan Bergenhagen got the nod on mound for the Saints, tossing a strong first two innings with five strikeouts. However, the Shoremen found home plate six times in the third inning to take a lead that wouldn't falter the rest of the way.

The bottom of the fifth saw Marymount bring around its first round, with senior Luke Tyree launching his first home run of the season over the right-field fence to score him and fellow senior Conner Hall

Although the deficit was tough to overcome, the bats heated up later in the game for the Saints including a triple by sophomore Bryan Harris and another by junior Mike Ferrara.

The Saints will look to rebound on Wednesday, February 27, back at Nationals Youth Academy, as they host Hampden-Syndey College for a single nine-inning game set to start at 1 p.m.
