Marymount University hired Pat Pinkman as its new pitching coach for the 2015 season, joining the Saints after a season at Washington University in St. Louis.

"I'm excited to have someone with Pat's background join our coaching staff," Leoni said. "He is well recognized as a pitching instructor and in the Northern Virginia area. He will help us take another step in our program's evolution"

With the Bears, Pinkman served as the pitching coach and helped lead WUSTL to a 28-16 record and a 3.75 team earned run average, finishing the season ranked third in the Central Region. The 2014 campaign was his second stint in St. Louis, also serving as the pitching coach during the 2012 season. That year, the Bears posted a 28-14 record and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2009.

Between the two seasons, Pinkman returned to his alma mater at Virginia Tech to finish his degree as a student assistant coach. The Hokies won 40 games that year for just the second time since 1999, finished as the runners-up in the ACC Tournament and hosted the 2013 Regional in Blacksburg.

A former standout at Virginia Tech, Pinkman was a 1998 Freshman All-American and named the Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Year. He set freshman records for wins (seven), innings pitched (89), strikeouts (81), pickoffs (10) and complete games (seven). As a sophomore he set an NCAA Division I record with 19 pickoffs and a sophomore record with nine complete games.

Pinkman played in the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 1999, starting in the Cape Cod All-Star game and earning Cape Cod Pitcher of the Year honors.
