DANBURY, Conn. – Marymount University men's basketball freshman Xavier Reaves was honored with his first-career Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Rookie of the Month, the league announced on Thursday.
Reaves has come on strong for the Saints in the second half of the season, earning the award for the month of January.
He reached double-figure scoring in five games in January. He set his career high with 19 points against Shenandoah University on January 16, before tying the total on January 23 at Cabrini University.
He recorded double-doubles in both games, including a career-high 16 boards against the Hornets. He added another career high with five steals at Wesley College on January 19.
For the month, he shot over 57 percent from the floor, while averaging 11.9 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game.
Reaves earned his first Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week award in the month as well, on January 21.
Reaves and the Saints travel to Atlantic East-foe Marywood University for their next game on Saturday, February 9; the tip is set for 3 p.m.
