Men's basketball earns spot in ECAC tournament, set to play Misericordia

DANBURY, Conn. – The Marymount University men's basketball team saw its season extended on Monday, earning a spot in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.

The Saints earned the No. 3 seed in their pod and will travel to No. 2 Misericordia University in a first-round contest on Wednesday, February 27.

Marymount is coming off of a second-place finish in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament, advancing to the championship game against No. 1-seeded Gwynedd Mercy University. The Saints hold a 16-12 record heading into the ECAC tournament.

The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 1 at Hood College to take on the winner of a first-round contest between Neumann University and Drew University.

The Saints and Cougars are set to tip off at 7 p.m., on Wednesday in their first-round matchup.
