AMHERST, Va.— The Marymount (Va.) University men's golf team traveled to the Poplar Grove Golf Club to compete in the two-day Lynchburg College Invitational, beginning on Monday, March 27. After two rounds, the Saints finished ninth in a field of 11 teams, collectively shooting 320-329.
Junior Erik Timlin paced the Saints, finishing tied for 23rd in a field of 66 golfers. Timlin carded a score of 157 (+13) through the two-day event. Freshman John David Coffin finished four spots back of Timlin, tied for 27th, after shooting 77-81.
Methodist University clenched first place as a team, shooting 586 (+10). Tyler Vincent of Methodist paced the competition, carding an impressive score of 143 (-1).
The men will head back to the green on Friday, March 31 for the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. The three-day event will take place at the Paradise Golf Club in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
