Men's golf begins spring season in first day of Hill City Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Marymount University men's golf team was back in action to start the spring season on Monday, beginning the Hill City Invitational hosted by Lynchburg College at Boonsboro Country Club. The Saints sit in seventh after day one, shooting 350 (+62) as a team.

Junior John David Coffin finished the first day with a 79 (+7) to tie for seventh on the par 72 course to lead the Saints.

He was joined by sophomore Ivan Pech and seniors Daniel Stone and Justin Dobak who all finished within four strokes of each other.

Pech, in his first round in blue and white this year, shot an 89 (+17) in 30th, while Stone was just behind with a 90 (+18) to tie for 31st.

Dobak finished day one with a 92 (+20) in a tie for 33rd.

Junior Thomas Farrell rounded out the day for the Saints, finishing in 42nd with a 103 (+31).

The Saints will continue the invitational on Tuesday, March 5 in the final day of play.
