Men's lacrosse enters 2019 as No. 3 team in Atlantic East Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Marymount University men's lacrosse team will enter its first season in the Atlantic East Conference voted No. 3 in the first-ever Atlantic East Preseason Poll, the league announced on Friday.

The Saints earned 25 points in the poll, coming up just two points shy of No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy University (27 points).

This season, the Saints return their top offensive and defensive players from 2018, as they look forward to a new slate of conference competition. Senior Sean Friedman led the team with 33 points and 20 assists last season, while adding 13 goals.

Senior Hunter McGeeney returns, after leading the team with 31 caused turnovers, on the defensive end.

Senior Matthew Ebert will be back, as well, for the Saints, after tying for second on the team with 17 goals last season and finishing third with 28 points.

The Saints will get their season started on Saturday, February 16, hosting William Peace University at Long Bridge Park; the opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
