LANCASTER, Pa. – Marymount University men's lacrosse sophomore Clark Akers was named the Atlantic East Conference Offensive Player the Week for the first time, the league announced on Monday.
Akers led Marymount in scoring on the week with 13 points and 11 goals. He set a career-high six goals on Wednesday against Catholic University, including one man-up score.
He followed that with a career-high seven points on five goals and two assists in the Saints' 15-14 overtime win against St. Vincent College on Saturday. Akers had another man-up goal in the game, as well.
Akers picked up seven ground balls between the two games, while putting 16 shots on goal.
The award marks the first-ever Atlantic East weekly award for the program.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday, March 9 at Long Bridge Park, hosting Lebanon Valley College; the game is set for 1 p.m.
