ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount swim teams honored their senior class on Saturday afternoon in their final home meet of the season against York College of Pennsylvania, before falling to the Spartans in both men's and women's.
The men fell, 147-54, to YCP, but junior Isaiah Jones put on a clinic in his freestyle events, taking first place in the 50 yard and 100 yard. In the 50 free, he beat out two Spartans by half a second for a 22.18 finish. He followed it up in the 100 free with a victory of over a second away from the second-place finisher.
Also having productive days were freshmen Max Klemm and Noel Lopez, taking second in their respective races. Klemm grabbed second in the 100 IM (58.21) and 100 backstroke (58.40), while Lopez took second in the 100 breast (1:04.18).
The senior class consisting of Alston, Emily Beuchert, Kristen Kilroy, Marisol Rivera, Cierra Schaefer, Shaka Kuykendall, Jonathan Mobley, Wes Wilson, and manager Hunter Hayes were all recognized for their careers with the Saints during the first break in the meet.
The Saints head on the road to finish out the regular season next weekend, February 3, at Frostburg State before preparing for the CAC Championships at St. Mary's College of Maryland. First race is set for 1 p.m., in Frostburg, Maryland.
