Men's swimming earns five first-place finishes in second day of Atlantic East championships

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Marymount University men's swimming team continued the Atlantic East Conference Championships on Saturday, picking up five gold medals on the way to 455.5 points to finish day two in second place.

Seniors Ian Griffith and Isaiah Jones, junior Tedd Pham, and sophomore Max Klemm got the Saints started with a gold in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:38.92.

Klemm added two individual titles on the day as well, beginning with the 100-yard butterfly. He moved to No. 7 in program history with his time of 53.55 seconds.

He then took over No. 6 in program history in the 100-yard backstroke, as he took the gold in 55.46 seconds.

Pham moved into No. 2 in the program for the 100yard breaststroke, as he took first with a time of 59.91 seconds.

Griffith added the final individual title for the Saints, as he tied for first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:21.81, which was good for third all-time in program history.

Marymount will continue the championship meet on Sunday, February 17, looking to close out strong; the preliminaries will begin the day at 10 a.m.
