LEXINGTON, Ky. - Just days away from Championship Weekend for the Continental Volleyball Conference Tournament, the Marymount men's volleyball team has moved up a spot to No. 5 in the latest AVCA ranking released on Tuesday.
At 21-6 this season, the Saints have already hit new program heights with the most wins in the young history of the squad. They finished out the regular season on a six-match win streak, most recently downing Arcadia University this past Friday, 3-1, on Senior Day.
All eyes on on the CVC Tournament this weekend, as the Saints, who sit as the top seed in the West Division, travel to overall top seed Kean University for a semifinal Friday evening. The match will be against the winner of a first-round matchup on Tuesday night between Rutgers-Camden and Ramapo, both teams the Saints sealed up 3-0 victories over.
Two other squads sit in the Top 15 with Marymount, seeing Kean hold at No. 4 and Southern Virginia move up a spot to No. 11. The Knights were eliminated from the CVC Tournament after a loss on Saturday against Kean.
Marymount's semifinal match on Friday at Kean is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. Be sure to check out www.marymountsaints.com for more postseason information as it becomes available.
