Men's Volleyball Rolls Past Mighty Macs To Remain Untouched In CVC Play

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University men's volleyball team has yet to drop a set in Continental Volleyball Conference play this season, cruising to it's fourth-straight 3-0 sweep on Saturday night against Immaculata University. 

Much of the success came from the service, dropping in a program-best 26 service aces for the evening. The 26 service aces was not only a program record for the Saints, but also ranks fourth in Division III men's volleyball history for a three-set match. Although it the aces were spread out among seven players, freshmen Ervin Harrell, Miles Olson and Raymond Tarasi eached paced the team with five each, all career-best marks. 

Olson, along with classmate Jason Perkins, each led the offense with match highs of six kills apiece, as Olson landed a .667 percentage and Perkins a .750. 

Junior Joseph Zanelotti and freshman Chris Manganiello controlled the offense with match highs in assists with nine each, while sophomore Jacob Martinez dove out for a match-high four digs. 

The Saints put their perfect conference record on the line next Wednesday, February 20, when they travel to No. 11 Southern Virginia University. Start time is set for 7 p.m., in Buena Vista, Virginia.
