MADISON, N.J. – The Continental Volleyball Conference announced its final Player of the Week for the 2019 season, and Marymount University junior Sam Safley earned the award for the second time in his career.
In the Saints only game of the week on Friday, Safley led the team to a 3-2 win over Arcadia University, setting a career high with 24 kills.
He accounted for 29 points for the Saints in the match, while also notching four service aces and two total blocks. On the defensive end, Safley tallied seven digs.
Safley and the Saints now look forward to the CVC tournament, taking on Rutgers University-Newark in a first-round contest on Thursday, April 11; the match is set for 5:30 p.m.
