    York, Pa. - Marymount University senior All-American women’s basketball standout Katelyn Fischer was selected by the Capital Athletic Conference Board of Directors as the conference’s 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year program candidate, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The voting was completed by head coaches within the ECAC Division III South Women’s Basketball membership.

Fischer has also been named VaSID Player of the Year each of the past three seasons.

    Towson, Md. – Marymount University senior standout Katelyn Fischer was named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-America ® Division III Women’s Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Fischer, also a First Team Academic All-American in 2012-13, was the only repeat performer selected this season.

Fischer tallied her 196th career three-pointer, tying mark set by Gallaudet’s Sherry Bradley from 1991-95, as the Saints fall to 13-8 overall and 8-3 in league play.
  • Women’s Hoops Completes Season Sweep Over Southern Virginia

    Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s basketball team defeated Capital Athletic Conference newcomer Southern Virginia 54-45 to complete a season sweep on Wednesday night. The Saints improve to 13-7 overall but the game does not count in the league standing because the Knights are in their final year of the NCAA reclassification process.

    Dover, Del. – Marymount University senior guard Katelyn Fischer broke another women’s basketball program record, recording her 192nd career three-pointer in a 66-55 victory over Wesley in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night. Fischer recently also broke the MU record for career assists and moved into the top-five in scoring with her 1,500th point.

  • Katelyn Fischer Breaks Marymount Career Assists Mark in Women’s Hoops Loss at #19 Christopher Newport

    Newport News, Va. – Marymount University women’s basketball senior guard Katelyn Fischer broke the program record for career assists in a 78-65 loss at 19th-ranked Capital Athletic Conference newcomer Christopher Newport on Saturday afternoon. Fischer tallied six assists in the contest to give her 497 for her career, breaking Cathy Finney’s record of 491 that had stood since 1995.
