LANCASTER, Pa. – Freshman Katie McShea, of the Marymount University women's basketball team, was named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the league announced on Monday.
McShea is coming off of a career game on Saturday in an 85-54 victory over Immaculata University. She scored a career-high 33 points, while adding 14 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the year.
She went 10-of-18 from the field, while converting 13-of-15 shots from the foul line.
Earlier in the week, McShea scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the team's 87-43 win at Gwynedd Mercy University. She also added two blocks and a steal in the game.
The award marks the second Atlantic East honor for McShea this season, as she was previously named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on December 21.
McShea and the Saints will be back in action on Saturday, February 9 at Marywood University; the game is set for 1 p.m.
