Women's golf finishes tied for fourth, after rain cancels day two of Bridgewater Fall Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Marymount University women's golf team finished the Bridgewater Fall Invitational at Lakeview Golf Club tied for fourth with a score of 333 (+45) on the par 72 course. The second day of competition was canceled due to inclement weather, finalizing the results from day one.

Senior Alessandra Bertacche led the way for Marymount, carding a 79 (+7) and tying for sixth. The score was her best of the season, hitting three strokes better than in the Saint's first competition. She tallied one birdie, as one-of-three Saints to do so, along with tying for third in the field with 11 pars on the day.

Setting a new career-low round, freshman Victoria Zarkadas tied for 12th in the event with an 82 (+10). She was able to knock in 11 pars, as well.

Senior Brandie Hartzell and freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo also carded birdies in the round. Hartzell finished tied for 22nd, shooting an 84 (+12), while Trojillo tied for 33rd, with an 88 (+16).

The Saints' round was finished out by freshman Gina Carvelli, who set a new career-round low, carding a 113 (+41).

Marymount will be back in action on Saturday, October 6, in the first day of the Shenandoah Fall Invitational at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Va.
