Saints start strong in first day of Greene Turtle Invitational

FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Marymount University women's golf team opened play in the first day of the Greene Turtle Invitational at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club on Saturday.

The Saints had three golfers competing in the first day of action, with senior Brandie Hartzell leading the way. Hartzell carded an 82 (+11), for her lowest round of the season. She currently sits in 14th for the event.

Freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo finished the first round in 22nd, hitting an 87 (+16) on the par-71 course.

Freshman Gina Carvelli set a new career low with her score, carding a 95 (+24), as she finished the first day of action tied for 33rd.

The Saints will be back in action for day two of the event on Sunday, October 7.
