Marymount finishes third in Revolutionary Collegiate Golf Classic; three Saints place in top 10

RISING SUN, Md. – The Marymount University women's golf team closed out The Revolutionary Collegiate Golf Classic in strong fashion on Sunday, placing third in the event with a score of 711 (+143) at The Chesapeake Bay Club.

Senior Alessandra Bertacche tied for third to lead the way for the Saints. She finished the event with a 165 (+23) on her card, after shooting a 77 (+6) during day two for her lowest round of the season.

Marymount had three individuals finish within the top 10, as Bertacche was joined by senior Brandie Hartzell, who tied for eighth, and freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo, who tied for 10th.

Hartzell finished the second round with an 83 (+12) to total 170 (+28) for the event. Trojillo finished just one stroke back, carding a 171 (+29), as she posted her best round of the season on day two with a 79 (+8).

Freshman Gina Carvelli finished out the competition for Marymount, carding a 95 (+24) in round two to finish tied for 34th with a 205 (+63).

Marymount will be back in action on Monday, October 15 in the Atlantic East Conference Fall Break Classic at Bear Trap Dunes in Ocean View, Del.
