BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Marymount University women's golf team finished the Adidas/TaylorMade Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Dataw Island, finishing fifth overall with a 737 (+83), after shooting 371 as a team in round two.
Senior Alessandra Bertacche improved on her round-one score, carding a 79 (+7) in the second round. She finished with a 161 (+17), moving up two spots to place fourth overall.
Freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo tied for 17th in the tournament, carding a 177 (+33) after shooting a 90 (+18) during the second day.
Also improving two spots from the first day, freshman Victoria Zarkadas placed 25th with a 185 (+41). She finished day two with a 91 (+19).
Freshmen Gina Carvelli and Janlynn Ngo finished out the round for the Saints, finishing in 37th and 40th, respectively. Carvelli finished the weekend with a 219 (+75) after a 116 (+44) during round two, and Ngo carded a 234 (+90) after a second-day score of 111 (+39).
The Saints will be back in action this week on Thursday, March 14 in the Shenandoah Spring Invitational at the Royal Links of St. Cloud in St. Cloud, Fla.
