Saints sit in second after one day of the Spartan Invitational

YORK, Pa. – The Marymount University women's golf team was back in action on Saturday in the first day of the Spartan Invitational, hosted by York College of Pennsylvania at the Country Club of York, holding second place after round one with a 338 (+46).

Senior Alessandra Bertacche is tied for sixth after the first day of play, carding an 81 (+8) on the par 73 course.

Just a stroke behind, freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo is tied for 10th with an 82 (+9).

The Saints saw three finish in the top 15, as senior Brandie Hartzell tied for 14th with an 84 (+11).

A pair of freshmen, Victoria Zarkadas and Janlynn Ngo, rounded out the day for Marymount. Zarkadas is tied for 23rd with a 91 (+18), while Ngo is tied for 42nd by carding a 104 (+31).

The Saints will continue the Spartan Invitational on Sunday, April 7 in the second round of action.
