Trojillo, Bertacche Pace Saints In First Round Of Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Marymount University women's golf team competed in day one of the Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday, sitting second place of eight teams with a team score of 366 (+86). 

The Saints sit 20 strokes back of reigning champion, Gettysburg College, who finished day one with a 346. 

Leading the way for the Saints is freshman Denise Isabel Trojillo, carding an 87 (+17) through the first 18 holes to sit in seventh. Just two strokes behind her tied for eighth is senior Alessandra Bertacche with an 89 (+19), while freshman Victoria Zarkadas is tied for 12th with a round of 94 (+24).

Senior Brandie Hartzell is in 16th with a 96 on day one, while freshman Gina Carvelli is tied for 26th with a 116.

The Saints will look to close the gap to the Bullets in the final round on Sunday at Conestoga Country Club.
