GRAND LAKE, Colo. – More academic success announcements rolled in on Monday evening, with the Marymount women's lacrosse team making its way onto the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads while five Saints earned spots on the Honor Roll.
To earn a spot on the Honor Squads list, the team must post a 3.0 or higher grade-point average for the academic year. As a team, the Saints put together a 3.34 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year.
The Academic Honor Roll is even more prestigious, as the student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater. The Saints had five players that met these marks: seniors Kellen Cannon and Abby Wescott, and juniors Kelly Campbell, Holly Reik and Alex Delgado.
Campbell held the highest mark of a 3.93 GPA, while Cannon graduated with a 3.90 GPA. Cannon is returning to Marymount for her graduate degree this year in the physical therapy program, while Wescott is continuing her education at DeSales University in Pennsylvania as the women's lacrosse graduate assistant. Campbell, Reik and Delgado all return for their senior years with the squad in 2019.
