Women's lacrosse voted No. 2 in Atlantic East Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – The first-ever Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse Preseason Poll was announced on Friday, and the Marymount University women's lacrosse team was voted No. 2 by the league's coaches.

The Saints earned 31 points, while receiving two first-place votes, in the poll. Only three points separated Marymount from No. 1 Cabrini University (34 points, four first-place votes).

In the first season of the Atlantic East, the Saints enter with two of their top offensive threats from last season.

Senior Jessica Crew was the team's top goal scorer in 2018, with 63, while finishing second on the team with 69 points.

Senior Bridgette Stacom ranked fourth on the team last year with 32 goals and 39 points, while also leading the team with 94 draw controls and ranking second with 23 caused turnovers.

The Saints also return a veteran net-minder, in senior Holly Reik. She played in and started 19 games in the goal last season, finishing the year with 199 saves.

Marymount will begin its season on Saturday, February 16, hosting Bridgewater (Va.) College at Long Bridge Park; the game is set for 12 p.m.
