IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Marymount University women's soccer team fell on the road Wednesday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference tilt.
The Mighty Macs (4-7-0, 1-1-0 Atlantic East) took a first-half lead with two goals in the 22nd and 27th minutes on unassisted finishes. Marymount looked to erase some of the deficit with four attempts of its own through the opening 45 minutes, but the two that were on target were roped in by Immaculata keeper Maddy Terry.
In the second half, Immaculata extended its lead to three with a goal in the 61st minute. With relentless effort, the Saints (3-9-1, 1-1-1 Atlantic East) found the back of the net before the final horn, as junior Karen Reyes send a cross to the middle of the field to classmate Gabby Cabrales for the finish.
Senior Sydney Sherman tended the net for the full 90 minutes, making three saves.
The Saints receive the weekend off from competition before their final non-conference match of the regular season on Monday, October 15, as they host Gallaudet University at Long Bridge Park. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
