ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Marymount University men's and women's swimming teams began the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships on Friday night, with two swimmers setting career-best times in the process.
Junior Hayley Elizondo led the women, racing in the finals of the 200-yard individual medley and finishing in 2:10.63. With the effort, she improved upon her hold of the No. 2 time in program history.
In the 400-yard medley relay, junior Isabel Grimm got the Saints started in the backstroke portion of the race. She finished her leg in the preliminary round in 1:02.31, moving into seventh all-time in program history for the 100-yard backstroke.
Jones posted a 22.07-second time in the 50-yard freestyle preliminary races, while Klemm raced in the 200 IM preliminaries, with a time of 2:02.00.
Klemm was less than a second off of his personal-best time in the race.
The Saints will continue the ECAC championships on Saturday, March 2 at the United States Naval Academy.
