Women's Swimming Splits Atlantic East Tri-Meet At Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Marymount University women's swimming team split an Atlantic East Conference tri-meet on Saturday afternoon, defeating Immaculata University, 188.5-37.5, and falling to host Marywood University, 135-125. 

The Saints claimed seven top individual finishes in the meet and closed it out with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:01.23, which included seniors Isabel Grimm, Jessie Bricker and Hayley Elizondo and freshman Delaney Carey

Leading the way in the individual races was Elizondo, remaining perfect for the season with three more first-place finishes. She won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.63), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.45), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.67)

Grimm added a top finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.45, while Bricker contribued a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle after touching the wall at 1:00.76. 

Freshmen Ellen Bryce and Carey each added a top individual finish as well, as Bryce collected a first-place time of 12:34.29 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and Carey clocked a time of 1:06.07 in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Saints finish up the Fall semester portion of their season next weekend, traveling to the two-day Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, November 23.
