LANCASTER, Pa. – Marymount University women's volleyball junior Theresa Buscemi was named the Atlantic East Conference women's volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for her first-career honor, the league announced on Monday.
Buscemi led the Marymount defense to help the team post a 2-0 week with wins over St. Mary's College of Maryland and Atlantic East-foe Marywood University.
She posted a season-high 25 digs in the win over the Seahawks, before tallying 10 digs against the Pacers. Buscemi added a service ace in each match, as well.
Her efforts led a defense that held St. Mary's to only a .118 hitting percentage. The unit followed that with an encore performance that held Marywood to only a .019 hitting percentage.
The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, October 16 to host Gallaudet University at The Converse Family Fieldhouse; the match is set for 7 p.m.
