Saints earn Pool 'B' bid for first-ever NCAA tournament selection

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's volleyball team has punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III tournament, earning a spot for the first time in program history, which was announced on the 2018 NCAA Selection Show on Monday.

The Saints are coming off of the first conference title in program history, defeating Cabrini University on Saturday, 3-1, in the first-ever Atlantic East Conference championship. Following the title, Marymount received an at-large bid to the tournament as a Pool 'B' selection.

Marymount will open the tournament on Friday, November 9 in a regional hosted by No. 6 Juniata College. The Saints will go up against former Capital Athletic Conference-foe University of Mary Washington.

The Saints and Eagles met up earlier this season in a non-conference match, in a 3-1 victory at Marymount. Senior Caroline Hanson paced the team in the victory with 22 kills and 17 digs for one of her 11 double-doubles of the year.
