NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Marymount University women's volleyball team closed out the Captains' Classic on Saturday, falling to two top-25 teams, 3-0, to No. 22 Christopher Newport University and, 3-1, to No. 3 Juniata College.

The Saints fell to the Captains, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21.
Junior Maggie Viniard notched 25 assists and eight digs in the match.

The Eagles took the first set 25-17, before the Saints knotted the match with a 25-19 victory in the second. However, the Eagles closed things out with 25-14 and 25-21 wins in the final two frames.
Johnson and Munsterman again led the offense with 17 and 12 kills, respectively. Johnson posted a double-double, adding 13 digs. She finished the weekend by earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Johnson finished the weekend with 37 kills and 22 digs.
Junior Myah Cordrey added six kills, while putting down four total blocks.
Roy led the defense with 20 digs. Viniard tallied 44 assists and eight digs; she led the team with five service aces, as well.
The Saints will return to action on Friday, September 6 in the Randolph-Macon Invitational, beginning with a 3 p.m., contest with Randolph-Macon College.
