OWINGS MILLS, Md. - In the squad's first 6K run of the season, the Marymount University women's cross country team grabbed a seventh-place finish as a team with 187 points in the Shannon Henretty Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Stevenson University.
Freshman Carly Merrill led the pack of Saints for her second-straight race, clocking a time of 27:39.48 to cross the line in 54th. Junior Sophia Murray and sophomore Clare Polis ran through together at 28:01.29 and 28:08.77, respectively, for 62nd and 67th.
Freshman Lumas Ermias took sixth out of the Saints with a time of 29:34.74, while sophomore Samantha Gimon clocked a time of 34:22.66.
The women will take a weekend off and get back on the road on September 22, traveling to Kernstown Battlefield in Winchester, Virginia for the Hornet Harrier Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah University.
