Women's Cross Country Takes Sixth At CNU Invitational

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Marymount University women's cross country team headed south on Saturday morning for the Christopher Newport University Invitational at the Lee Hall Mansion, taking sixth place with 132 points.

Leading the way was senior Kaitlyn Reed with a 17th place finish on the 6K course after crossing the line at 27:08.09. She was followed close behind by junior Clare Polis, clocking a time of 27:33.94 for 21st place.

Sophomore Carly Merrill came through in 30th with a time of 28:43.93, while junior Samantha Gimon (31:15.92) and junior Grace Smith (37:57.15) wrapped up the scoring for the Saints in 35th and 38th, respectively. 

The Saints will now rest up for the Atlantic East Conference Championship, set to take place in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 2.
