Reed, Polis earn second-team All-Atlantic East, as Saints place fourth in conference championship

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Marymount University women's cross country team ran the Atlantic East Conference Championship race on Saturday, placing fourth with a team score of 96.

The Saints were paced by senior Kaitlyn Reed and junior Clare Polis in 11th and 12th, respectively. Reed finished in 27:55.3, with Polis just behind in 27:58.8, earning each runner All-Atlantic East second team honors.

Sophomore Carly Merrill ran the course in 29:00.2 to place 17th, to give the Saints three finishers in the top 20.

Juniors Samantha Gimon and Grace Smith finished out the day for Marymount. Gimon placed 29th in a time of 33:52.7, and Smith finished 33rd in 37:55.1.

The Saints now look forward to the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships on Saturday, November 16.
